The Many Different Classes of RVs We Cover

Motorhomes

Class C Motorhome

We also offer class c motorhome insurance for the mid-range options that are usually about 20-33 feet in length, sleeping up to six people comfortably. Class C’s are commonly referred to as mini motorhomes or “cab overs” because the living area extends over the cab (where the driver seat is) for extra living space.

Class A Motorhome

These are the largest, most luxurious and most expensive, ranging from 21-40 feet in length and sleeping up to eight people. Class A motorhomes sometimes look like buses and typically come fully updated with high-end kitchens/living areas and electronics or entertainment. No worries if you have expensive belongings inside because you can get protection for them with your Progressive Class A Motorhome Insurance Policy.

Class B (camper van)

Commonly referred to as “camper vans,” and are usually the smallest and most economical, ranging 16-21 feet in length and sleeping up to four people. Also, these motorhomes typically have limited amenities and lower-end electronics/entertainment. But we’ll still insure your belongings inside with your class B or camper van insurance policy.

Campers and  Travel Trailer

Conventional Trailer

These are designed mostly for vacationing/camping use and can range from 12-40 feet in length and in the quality of amenities (some can be very luxurious while others are more economical). Most do include living areas with bathrooms, dining and sleeping

Fifth-Wheel Trailer

These are similar to conventional trailers but have a raised section in the front above the fifth wheel (area where it connects to tow vehicle) to create extra living space. These range from 21-38 feet in length and in the quality of amenities.

Pop-up Tent Trailer

These are usually smaller, only ranging from about 12-23 feet (when opened) and built with collapsible sidewalls for easier towing. Pop-ups usually have very few luxuries and don’t include bathrooms.

Mounted Truck Camper

These basically sit on top of a truck or other hauling vehicle and can be perfect for first time RVers, as they’re more economical, compact and easy to haul. These are usually about 18-21 feet long and sleep up to six people. More on mounted truck camper insurance.

Toy Hauler and Horse Trailer

These are much larger trailers that are designed for transporting horses, ATVs or other large cargo

Coverages

Comprehensive Coverage.

This is included with our fifth-wheel policies and is not automatically included in your typical auto policy. This provides protection from just about any direct, sudden, and accidental loss, including; collision, fire, smoke, floods, landslides, hail, windstorms, animals, vandalism, low branches or overhangs, theft and lightning. We also include Coverage for Attached Accessories, including awnings, satellite dishes, TV antennas and more.

Total Loss Replacement Coverage.

This option can save you literally thousands of dollars when compared to typical auto policies, which pay only the Actual Cash Value of your fifth-wheel at the time it’s destroyed. The Foremost fifth-wheel insurance coverage protects from the effects of depreciation. If your new-model fifth-wheel is destroyed within its first five model years, and you’re the original owner, we’ll pay to replace it with a brand new one of similar kind and quality. In years six through ten, we’ll give you up to what you originally paid for it toward the purchase of another fifth-wheel.

Towing and Roadside Assistance

Towing, jump starts, roadside service, flat tire charges, fuel delivery, and locksmith service are just a toll-free phone call away. There are no out-of-pocket payments required, either. Just sign and drive. What’s more, your fifth-wheel and your tow vehicle are covered, regardless of who is driving!

Special Program for Stationary Fifth-Wheels

gives you extensive comprehensive and contents coverage if you use your fifth-wheel as a seasonal or permanent residence. This includes liability coverage that covers liability, medical payments to others, and property damage claims caused by an accident for which you are held liable. This RV insurance program provides you with additional protection since your auto or homeowners policies may not extend coverage to you.

Emergency Expenses Coverage.

Pays for lodging or travel home if your camper is damaged or destroyed by a covered loss more than 50 miles from home.

Replacement Cost Coverage.

More than a typical auto or homeowners policy, this covers your personal belongings that are destroyed or stolen.

Campsite/Vacation Liability Coverage.

Provides liability coverage when you are parked and using your fifth-wheel as a residence, typically seasonally or weeks at a time.

Full-Timer Coverage.

This is a coverage very similar to a homeowners policy. This option also covers you when you are parked and using your fifth-wheel as a residence, typically for extended periods of time.

Insuring Your Tow Truck.

This special option offers insurance for your medium duty tow truck that you use to tow your fifth wheel, provided the medium duty tow truck’s GVWR exceed 10,000 pounds. This means that the maximum allowable total weight of a road vehicle when loaded must exceed 10,000 pounds
